“Rusty’s Law,” addendum to Article 47 of the Unusual Torture Act, was enacted in 1969. Rusty was “born” in 1960 (ish), and he was eight when the Action Man’s little joke grenade caused him to be impaled and have emergency surgery under local anesthetic on the compound to remove his kidney.

He was getting kidnapped every two weeks at that point, so it isn’t difficult to guess that he was shortly after kidnapped by someone who didn’t know the child was recovering from major surgery, and the resulting endangerment of his life (injuries during the capture, or simply exacerbating the injuries he had, tearing open his wounds) caused even the villainiest villains to cringe a bit.

Whether they thought it was a bit much see him in so much pain, or they were afraid of getting another Action Johnny, or they were just starting the procreation game themselves and starting to think they didn’t want their own children to be put through this crap, some villain probably got the wrap for Rusty losing a kidney and probably suffering a lot during that kidnapping, when the real culprits were his criminally negligent fathers.

Thus, the following year, in 1969, they added a stipulation to make sure that children would be required to have medical care if kidnapped and injured in some way.

I bet Pete watched The Rusty Venture Show growing up like Billy did and I bet he was actually a huge fan too but the reason he doesn’t really care for the show or talk about it now is because he knows the making of that show destroyed Rusty.

The adventures weren’t all fun like the show made it seem, it was throwing a real little kid into dangerous situations for his dad to get all the praise.

Pete used to joke about Rusty about the show in college but after experiencing his friend’s first PTSD episode, he just couldn’t bring himself to care about the show anymore.

role reversal dr mrs and the monarch or!!! The Black Witch (after the black witch moth) and dr boyfriend!!!

theyre both magic users probably cuz thats just kinda……….how their themes worked out lmao

also dr boyfriend has his doctorate in some kind of literary field ;0

I think a degree in literature would really aid a magic skill set, cus magic can be largely language based what with spells and incantations and shit; especially if his study leaned toward poetry or old world literature. (Also, if you’ve ever read Carry On by Rainbow Rowell, it gives a fantastic idea of how much power words can hold when it comes to magic).

You guys ready for your weekly dose of retrospective heartbreak?

Go rewatch Bot Seeks Bot now and look at Vendata’s life. Struggling to communicate with anyone. Feeling ostracized by the only people he has any regular contact with. Being so lonely. Being so upset when he thought his date ditched him. Struggling to process his own memories in the end of the episode.

And now instead of “hey this is that cyborg character we’ve passingly encountered before”, recall that this is probably the eventual fate of all the vim and vigor that used to be the Blue Morpho. This precious baby who stole many of our hearts as early as “It’s another think coming, God!”

Just….. Yeah……..

yeah....

Send me y’all’s Venture Bros headcanons!! I don’t know want to let this love of this fandom go!! Let’s keep it going!!

Kate is actually Red Death’s original arch enemy. After arching for several years, they fell in love. Also she’s some sort of nymph that saves the souls of the ppl that Red Death has killed. Nonetheless, she was very much in love with him that she does not tell him abt this. Also she made Lilah look like him so that he wouldn’t feel insecure abt his looks.

I’ve been reading your posts on various ways of writing BatB stories, and I was curious your thoughts on this: a civilized, shy, even timid male Beast with a loud, in-your-face female Beauty (think Merida from Brave.). I love the original version of Beast, that he’s a sweet charming guy with a monster face, nice to his Beauty and asking her to marry him every day; I like the idea of posing that against a more ‘modern’, less classy lady. Thoughts?

I love it! So often Beauty and the Beast stories are used as a framework for repressed-and-proper-girl-finds-wild-side narratives, I’d be interested in seeing what you could do with reversing that! I like the idea of the Beast being very uptight and proper as a way of balancing out beastliness (Something I was trying to do in the comic, to a degree). It might be fun to reverse-My-Fair-Lady the story!
